Welcome to Grand Rapids Pit Bull Alliance (GRPBA)!
A Revolutionary Approach to Pet Welfare
Dedicated to supporting the human-animal bond by breaking down barriers and providing essential resources to pet parents in our community.
Grand Rapids Pit Bull Alliance (GRPBA) is an all volunteer-operated organization that has been keeping pets and families together since 2017. We’re committed to keeping pets with their families and preventing economic pet surrender. By removing barriers and providing essential resources, we support the human animal bond helping pets and pet parents in our community remain together and thrive. We take a revolutionary approach to pet welfare, focusing on strengthening the bond between people and their animals. Through active community presence, open and judgment-free conversations, and sustained long-term support, we aim to meet pet parents where they are—with compassion and empathy.
Our core belief is that everyone who wants a pet should have the opportunity to experience that connection, and we are here to support that special bond. We’re excited to continue helping more pets stay with their families.

About GRPBA
At Grand Rapids Pit Bull Alliance, we believe in a revolutionary approach to pet welfare—one that acknowledges and respects the deep connection between people and their pets. Our mission goes beyond traditional animal services by emphasizing the human-animal relationship.
We understand that many pet parents face challenges accessing services due to systemic bias, institutional discrimination, and other barriers. Our approach bridges these gaps, ensuring that everyone can experience the unconditional love and joy that comes with pet companionship.
We actively build relationships within the community by:
- Being present in the community.
- Engaging in open, judgment-free conversations with pet parents.
- Learning about community needs through direct interaction.
- Providing sustained, long-term support to families and their pets.
We approach every interaction with compassion and empathy, meeting pet parents where they are—both literally and figuratively—to understand their unique situations and provide the support they need.
